This past weekend we were honoured to welcome the first group of visitors to Vatra. A group of collaborators with whom we have been working in Cluj so we were very excited to have them come by and see for themselves what we have been talking about. They loved what we have co-created thus far! With Vatra being a stopping point to integrate and renew the body-mind-spirit, we of course visited the sacred sites: the ancient Dacian capital Sarmizegetusa where we drank from the Dacian-built ceramic spring whose source is unknown and healing power a mystery; as well as the Costesti fortress {photo below}, the home of the kings. This initiating visit reminded me that we are walking an intriguing path; one that seems fit for us, creating the space for my fellow Romanians to reconnect to their land's ancient history, and for visitors to experience & support the process of our peoples' reclamation & integration of our ancestral root.
Thank you everyone for your support and good intentions towards this project, as we continue to build this dream ever stronger, block by block.
